Perry Bigelow

Perry’s association to the Mad River Valley began in 1969 at the ripe old age of six, with family trips on weekends and holidays to ski at Sugarbush.  It was lace boots, safety straps, double chairs and the three-person gondola at Sugarbush.  In the late 1970s the family left the condo on the mountain for a home with a meadow just around the corner.  It needed a lot of work so Perry and his family started spending Summer weekends in the valley as well.  One of Perry’s fondest memories was [...]

One of Perry’s fondest memories was learning to run the 1958 Massey Ferguson tractor with a brush hog to get what used to be a meadow back to grass.

Fast forward to 2015, Perry, with his wife Valerie, purchased that family vacation house in the meadow from his siblings and moved his young family to Vermont.  Perry then started the process of transforming the home into a year-round residence.  The first step was building a detached garage with an in-law apartment above that his family could live in during the renovation.  The last piece was subdividing the property for one of his sisters so she too could take advantage of everything the Mad River Valley had to offer.

Outside of real estate, and his children, most of Perry’s interests involve a sense of adventure.  He holds a private pilot license, UAV license, motorcycle license, scuba certification and has participated in car racing and fighter pilot ‘for a day’ programs.  He has jumped out of a "perfectly good" airplane, heli-skied in Canada and looks forward to skiing new mountains in the US and abroad before too long.

Perry is currently the Treasurer of the Mad River Valley Housing Coalition and has been a member of the Mad River Valley Chamber of Commerce since 2000.
